A finely woven Nupe Duna ceremonial cloth. Duna cloths were principally used at weddings when the bride and groom would be wrapped together in the single cloth around their shoulders to signify their new unity. Like all Nupe women's weaving this cloth was woven in two pieces on an upright loom and is joined at the centre. The design is executed in supplementary weft float on a white ground with black pinstripes. It is probably around 30 years old and is in excellent condition.
