Ikat motifs were a speciality of women weavers in the town of Igara near Okene. Almost all were done in yellow, a few in red, brown, or white. This blue and white example is in superb condition with bold striking designs. Since the 1960s machine spun thread has replaced the hand spun cotton used on this mid century piece.
