CODE #: K179

PRICE: US$595

Measurement: 84 inches x 49 inches, 213cm x 125cm.

An old example of the  extremely rare and sought after kente pattern called "liar's cloth" or "nkontompo" which are said to have been worn by kings and chiefs when they sat in court as a warning against deceit. Three narrow pinstripes run down the left selvedge of the strip for some distance, turn across the width, then down the right selvedge before reversing again. This cloth is in a rather worn condition, and probably dates from around 1930s.
