This Asante cotton womans' wrapper cloth is a rare example of a blue and white mmaban or "mixed" pattern. Similar pieces can be seen in the National Museum of African Art collection (published Ross 1998:292 & Gilfoy 1987:73) and in the Adler collection - Adler & Barnard 1992:7.)  This fine old cloth dates from around 1930s to 50s and is in reasonable condition, with some sun-fading.
