Very unusual variant of the  classic Malian blue and white cotton  blanket, with exceptionally wide strips and weft insert patterning.  This old and extensively used cloth has a soft feel and beautiful faded indigo. It has a couple of small repairs and a few small marks.   Hand spun thread is used throughout.  It was collected in Northern Ghana where Malian blankets are highly prized heirlooms, and dates from the early part of the C20th.
