MEASURES: 79 inches x 50ins, 201cm x 127cm

Beautiful and subtle woman's weave cloth in two panels. Complex variations in thread and placement of warp and weft achieve the muted block effect and the impression of a strip weave cloth on the wider loom. A change in warp colours to beige and white at one selvedge is particularly effective. The exact source of this cloth style is unknown as yet.  Handspun indigo dyed thread is used in the weft.  In excellent condition, dates from mid-C20th.
