Manjak weavers are from Guinea Bissau but many now work and live in Senegal where there is a wealthier patronage for their weaving. Their complex weft float patterning is a contemporary derivation of the ornate pano de obra woven in the Cape Verde islands under Portuguese rule. This is a superb new piece woven to the highest standards.
