CODE# E437 PRICE US$1750 MEASURES: 105 inches x 55 ins, 267cm x 139cm This is the most elaborate example of the few pieces I have seen of a rare northern Ewe cloth type. The characteristics of this style are the palette limited to black, red, and white, and exceptionally wide weft faced strips. This example is the only one I know of with supplementary weft float decoration. Clearly a lot more research is needed into the weaving traditions of northern Ewe peoples and at present it is not possible to assign it to a specific location. Dates from the first half of the C20t. There is a large very faintly discoloured area at the right half of the cloth as seen in the photo.
