This rare early chequerboard style of Ewe woman's cloth has a much
greater variety in pattern within the weft faced blocks than is usually
found in this type of fabric. It retains the narrower border strip that
is typical of early pieces in this group. The price has been reduced to
reflect its condition - although neat from in front there are numerous
patched repairs made using two strips removed from the edge. Age circa
1900-20.
