CODE#: CVP09 PRICE: US$785 Measurements: 75ins x 35ins, 192cm x 89cm Panos d'obra are characterised y complex weft float patterning inspired by Portuguese designs. These simpler forms of the style balance blocks of the weft patterning with plain areas and distinct borders. The patterns like the dark blue ground, are hand spun indigo dyed local cotton thread. Soft, well used piece with a beautiful and unusual design. There are a couple of small holes (less than one inch width) which have been patched from the reverse face by a professional textile conservator here in London - see detail. Dates from early to mid C20th.
