Interesting early C20th mixed strip woman's wrapper with hand spun indigo dyed cotton, some magenta trans-Saharan silk "alaari" and some thread dyed with a local magenta to achieve the same effect. Slight colour run from this dye in the float patterns. An interesting and rare feature is the use of magenta alaari instead of white to create the fine check in the speckled "etu" / "guineafowl" strips. Some seams re-sewn by machine, otherwise is in good condition.
