Fine early flag with a man facing a stalk of maize and a spiders. Spiders are key figures in Akan mythology and often depicted on flags but the collection of small symbols on this example is very unusual - see detail. Hand sewn throughout, this flag dates from circa 1930s. A small area of the border is missing at upper left, otherwise condition is reasonable.
