Old and well used version of a classic stitched resist adire called "pele" or "tribal marks." The three parallel lines represent marks made on the face by some Yoruba groups, while the three lines coming to a point are chicken's feet. There is some slight discoloration in areas of this cloth but overall condition is good. Age circa 1940s.
